Shopping when you don't have any money

We have $30 to spend on food & household items this week. Not very much......however, because I have a well stocked pantry, we will be fine.

This evening I went to Winco and purchased:
2 gallons of milk
1 gallon of drinking water
1 loaf of bread ($0.75)
3 cans of chili beans (0.68 each)
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
2 boxes of instant oatmeal ($2.28 each - $1 coupon HERE (must use IE)
1 box of Bisquick ($2. 78 - $1 coupon)
2 boxes of Rice a roni (0.98 each)
1 bag salad (1.78)
1 yellow onion (0.15)
1 can spahetti-O's (0.89)
1 box of fruit treats (essentail to treat my daughter's low blood sugars - making a picky 4 year old eat when they don't want to is difficult).

I think that is most of it, the total came to $29.02. Fortunately, I have yellow, red, and green peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, and lots of carrots already in the fridge. We are also well-stocked on apples, cheese, and crackers. The kids love instant oatmeal (since i am not up when they get ready for school - dad is, but he doesn't do oatmeal), from our pantry he can make biscuits and gravy, pancakes, english muffins, toast and cereal. We have lots of meat so he can add the Rice a roni and a salad one night to make a meal. We don't have any hamburger but we do have ground turkey and sausage, so i will make Chili and cornbread one night. Spaghetti sauce is always a staple here. - it can be plain over noodles or Dad can throw in any meat he likes. We have green pepper as mentioned before.

I made 2 loaves of pumpkin bread tonight, so that can suffice as snacks in addition to cheese & crackers, apples, canned peaches, carrots, boiled eggs, etc.

Dad can make the little girls sandwiches, spaghetti-O's, mac and cheese, and corn dogs for lunch. Not very nutritious i know but Dad has limited lunch interest/skills.

I also made some homemade tortilla chips tonight by frying cut up corn tortillas in veggie oil. they taste good!

The only difficulty really will be Milk. My kids love milk! We normally go through 8 gallons a week. Let the rationing begin........
we have kool-aid, crystal light, water, juice, etc.
