My shopping today - Savemart & Super Target


Happy Mother's Day!

After a great dinner with my in-laws, the kids and grandma did a little grocery shopping with me....

1st stop:  Save Mart

I took advantage of another GREAT Quaker promotion:  buy 5 select products, get each for $1.39 and get a FREE 1/2 gallon of Tropicana Orange Juice!

#1:  5 boxes Peanut Butter Crunch (Pigeon Man's favorite) @ $1.39 each:  $6.95 + free OJ

#2:  5 boxes of Quaker chewy granola bars = $6.95 + free OJ
Used (2) -$1.00/2 coupons (found inside instant oatmeal) + $0.75 off True Delights=  (-) $2.75
Net cost:  $4.20 (0.84 per box)

#3:  5 boxes granola bars = $6.95 + free OJ
Used (2) True Delights coupns = (-) $1.50
Net cost:  $5.45

Other items:  
2 Jimmy Dean Skillet Scrambles @ $3.99 each - got FREE 1 dozen eggs (this is very near Winco's price, so the eggs made it worth it to me)

In-ad coupon:  4 Rold Gold snacks @ 4/$5
Used (2) -$1 on 2 Rold Gold coupons
Net cost:  $0.75 each (got 2 bags pretzels, 1 bag twists, 1 bag cheesy pretzels)

In-ad coupons:  Apple juice, limit 1, $0.99 with $25 purchase

3 Activia yogurt - on sale for $2 each
Used (3) -$1 coupons
Net cost:  $1 each!

2 Danimals yogurt drinks - on sale for $2 each
Used (2) -$0.75 coupons
Net cost:  $1.25 each

3 Birds Eye Steamfresh frozen peas (LOVE these on green salads!) - on sale 4/$5
Used (1) -$1 on 3 coupon
Net cost:  $2.75 for 3 (about $0.90 each)

Pillsbury Chocolate chip cookie dough (yes, I admit - the Pre-formed ones) - on sale 2/$5
Used (1) $1/2 coupon
Net cost:  $2 each (with the cost of choc chips these days, not sure i could make them for less?)

1 bottle of Beringer White Zinfandel wine $4.98  (I only drink wine rarely, it just sounded good today)

1 pound fresh Driscoll Strawberries - $2.50 (expensive, but they look soooo good!)

TOTAL BEFORE COUPONS:  $66.68
TOTAL AFTER COUPONS:  $54.43 for 41 items

From the bottom of the receipt:
Special purchase discount (promotions):  $23.39
Mfg coupons:  $12.25
Savings on Sale items:  $43.80

TOTAL SAVINGS:  $79.44, which is a savings of 60%


2nd Stop:  Super Target
(Grandma's request, I didn't see much in the ad that appealed to me)

(2) 2 liter diet pepsi - on sale for $0.99
2 Gallons Milk @ 2.39 each
Market Pantry tortilla chips - on sale 3/$5
(2) 2 pound packages lean ground beef - on sale, $1.99 per pound = $3.98 each
Kitty Chow $4.98 (yes, we have adorable baby kittens - want one?????)

Kleenex hand towels (for upcoming road trips) - $2.99
Used $1 mfg coupon
Used $0.75 Target coupon
Net cost:  $1.24

Coffee-mate - $1.69
Used $0.50 coupon
Net cost:  $1.19

Up brand, disposable women's razors - package of 8 for $6.98

Aussie hairspray - on sale for $2.84

My total was around $50 - I think the receipt got tossed by accident

Running total of food spending (includes previous posts):  $339 + $104 (today's) = $443
