Target Deals April 3 - 9, 2011

I'm planning my Target shopping trip.  Rather than repost the deals I looked up, I'll link to them directly.  I start at Money Saving Mom, but then link through to Stretching a Buck.  She does an awesome job of posting deals WEEKLY.

Here's my plan:

first transaction:

              = $16.49
Tide 150 0z liquid - $18.99, - $1.00 mailer coupon (P&G coupon booklet) - 1.00 Target coupon (mailer)
              = $16.99
Get $5.00 giftcard & apply to the following transaction:

Kandoo toddler wipes - $1.49, -$1 coupon from the 4/3 paper = $0.49

Oscar Mayer Carving Board lunchmeat (2) - $3.29 each, - $2 Facebook coupon (printed twice).
              6.58 - 4.00 = 2.58 = $1.29 each
Up & Up household wipes - using $1.00 coupon (print out)

Windex multi-surface - using $0.55 coupon from 4/3 paper + $1 Target coupon (mailer)

Newman's Own Marinara sauce - $1.89, - $1 coupon (from Facebook) = $0.89 each (do twice).

That's really all I see for our family - Good Luck!

First, my meat story........I noticed the meat guy walking around putting coupons on some of the meat.  I went browsing behind him, picked up a roast for a fair price.....then noticed that some of the pork chops (Hormel Always Tender) were supposed to be $1.90 a pound (signage).  I asked him about it, and he looked at the sign then agreed.  He took them back and re-priced them......and left the $3 off coupons he had put on them!!!  well.....I LOVE A MEAT DEAL!!!  I bought 6 packages for an average of just over $3 a package.  They have about 8 pork chops in them each.....even if we make 2 packages for dinner and have leftovers for lunch...still a good deal.   Our Target has nice meat too.

Ok..moving on....some highlights:

Air Wick Freshmatic Ultra I-motion - $6, used $5 off coupon (insert).
Net:  $1 (Target also had a $1 off coupon on their site, but I couldn't get it to print, then it disappeared when I re-loaded the page)

Net:  $5
We have a pool and we are always in need of pool towels!  Hubby is a big guy, so the 7 ft works great for him!

2 Hair clippies (fabric covered, never seen these before, except homemade) - $1.99 each
Ingrown nail cutter - $15.99, nothing thrifty about it, but needed.

**Note:  I don't think I necessarily did a good job at Walgreens.....but we needed the softener (my bounce dryer bar was a huge disappointment!), envelopes, & nail cutter.  Body wash is not a thrifty concept to begin with....but i have a lot of girls that like to smell good and we like it....

Total spent:  $44.11

Total spent today on food/household items (doesn't include the beach towel or nail trimmer) = $184 ish - this is a bigger week for us, but we have a tournament next week in Oakhurst, CA so i'm trying to stock up a bit.....

Still have to hit Savemart tomorrow for a few deals and get Iron Kids bread & milk at Costco...

Of note, 1 package of the keebler cookies was eaten before the groceries were all inside the house....by daddy, the Queen, and the Athlete.....all the while, the Queen was announcing that she does not eat Salami because it isn't healthy!  LOL!

Target Toy Deals

Edit:  I bought the Scrabble card game and 3 Pictureka games, worked like a charm!  I tried to buy a Sorry card game using a similar printable and it wouldn't go through, nor would they push it through.  I already have 2 of the Monopoly card games, so I didn't buy those.  I looked at the Monopoly Get out of Jail game, but decided against it as we don't play it that often.  I threw all of these into my "Gift" box!

I haven't done this deal myself yet, but I plan to today!

There are some awesome toy coupons available to print right now.  I'm hoping these deals will work as planned so I can stash some away for Birthday presents, donations, next Christmas, etc.

  Net cost:  $1.24 each

Leap Frog Tag Reading System

Target has this system on sale for $28.99. A bit too much for me.....until you combine it with the manufacturer coupon HERE and the Target coupon HERE. Net price after coupons = $8.99.

**EDIT** I went to my local Target today to grab this deal....however, the Tag reading system scanned at $39.99. They also did not have the toy catalogs. I need to look into this...maybe i have the sale dates wrong? On a brighter note, the Leap Frog Tag junior reading system was on sale for $28.99. The cashier at customer service accepted the Target coupon for $10 off, combined with the mfg coupon of $5 off, I paid about $15 total. I will use this as the main gift for our 2 year old this Christmas. It comes with 1 book, and i purchased 2 more (on sale for $8.99).

Quick trip to Target

Made a quick trip to Target this afternoon with 3 of the kids. Our 9 year old really needed some underclothes, and I wanted to look at the clothes clearance as I have yet to purchase her any long pants/jeans. The weather is holding here at around 80 degrees daily so she is OK in shorts for awhile yet.....however, it is almost November. Time to start looking. Last year they were able to wear shorts to school through November. Sarah is hard to fit - at age 9 she is 5'2" tall and 120 pounds. She cannot fit into girls sizes anymore, but the "junior" styles are too mature. It is a real challenge at times. The girls plus sizes will sometimes work, but can only find those online around here. Anyway, we really weren't successful....but did find 2 pairs of bermuda shorts (come down to her knees) for $9 each and 2 pairs of sweatsuit-type fabric for $6 each. I also picked up a cute clearance shirt for our eldest for $5.

Other deals:

Game - Connect 4. On sale for $9, used the $4 off coupon posted about HERE at Chicks Dig Deals. I planned on adding this to my gift stash but hubby saw it when he came home and said "Connect 4! I love that game, I wanted it sooo bad when i was young but my mom wouldn't buy it!" so....maybe.....it'll be in HIS Christmas stash........

Chicks Dig Deals also has an awesome post on the Toys R Us Big Book deals HERE.

Speaking of Toys R Us, I asked hubby to make a run to there last night and pick up the 3 1/2" Disney Fairies they have on sale for $5.99, B1G1 free. He came home with 4 fairies for $12. I did briefly browse for a coupon beforehand, but couldn't find one. I plan on gifting these with the carry-along fabric fairy house I am making as Natasha's (age 4 by Christmas) main Christmas gift. I will also make a flower fairy carpet to go with it. Love the free patterns at Wee Folk Art!

OK...back to the deals.....

Keebler cookies - buy 2, get 1 free.
Used a $1 of 2 manufacturer coupon + $1 off 2 Target coupon. For coupon links and to see the deal, go HERE.
I wanted to do this transaction twice, but the little ones were not up for it.
