How to get a FREE Shining Stars Friend (do have to pay shipping)

Go HERE to become a fan of International Star Registry on Facebook.  Then select the "Discussion" tab.  There you will find the promo code to receive a Shining Stars Friend for FREE.  You do still have to pay $4.99 for shipping.  I debated it, but did end up ordering one because I just think it's neat!  Will probably save it for Christmas.  Hoping Daddy will order for Monkey Girl.  All 3 of the older girls have their own FB, so we'll see if they can each get one.

If you don't know what Shining Star Friends are - when you receive your "friend" you get to name your very own star (yes, a real one, the bright lights in the sky at night!).  Very cool!

If you want to check out the Shining Stars site before you order - see it HERE.  I ordered the zebra for Dino Girl (some days she is a zebra).
Here is a drawing made by the Queen's BFF (a very talented girl!).  Her rendition of Dino Girl is on the left.

Next stop.....Super Target (in Tulare, CA)

First, my meat story........I noticed the meat guy walking around putting coupons on some of the meat.  I went browsing behind him, picked up a roast for a fair price.....then noticed that some of the pork chops (Hormel Always Tender) were supposed to be $1.90 a pound (signage).  I asked him about it, and he looked at the sign then agreed.  He took them back and re-priced them......and left the $3 off coupons he had put on them!!!  well.....I LOVE A MEAT DEAL!!!  I bought 6 packages for an average of just over $3 a package.  They have about 8 pork chops in them each.....even if we make 2 packages for dinner and have leftovers for lunch...still a good deal.   Our Target has nice meat too.

Ok..moving on....some highlights:

Air Wick Freshmatic Ultra I-motion - $6, used $5 off coupon (insert).
Net:  $1 (Target also had a $1 off coupon on their site, but I couldn't get it to print, then it disappeared when I re-loaded the page)

2 Soft Scrub Total spray cleaner - $3.49 each, used 2 -$1.50 coupons and 2 -$1 target coupons.
Net:  $1

Mr Clean magic eraser - $2.99 (4 pack), used $0.75 off coupon

Hubby is cuter when he smells good!

Ore-Ida potatoes - buy 2 @ 2/$5, get 1 free

Can get the store brand cheaper, but we don't eat these often and I think the better brand does taste better.....at least to me.

Easter egg-dye kit (PAAS) - $0.99

7 ft striped beach towel - on sale for $7, used $2 off coupon from Target website
Net:  $5
We have a pool and we are always in need of pool towels!  Hubby is a big guy, so the 7 ft works great for him!

Total spent:  $81.42
Next stop.....Walgreens

Transaction #1 - 2 Dove body wash @ 2/$12, used 2 $1.25 off coupons (printable)
Net:  $10.50 for 2, got a $4 Register Reward

2 Suavitel fabric softener @ $2.99 BIG1
Envelopes - $1.29
2 Hair clippies (fabric covered, never seen these before, except homemade) - $1.99 each
Ingrown nail cutter - $15.99, nothing thrifty about it, but needed.

**Note:  I don't think I necessarily did a good job at Walgreens.....but we needed the softener (my bounce dryer bar was a huge disappointment!), envelopes, & nail cutter.  Body wash is not a thrifty concept to begin with....but i have a lot of girls that like to smell good and we like it....

4 Cantaloupe @ $0.25/pound = about $0.80 each

Total spent:  $44.11

Total spent today on food/household items (doesn't include the beach towel or nail trimmer) = $184 ish - this is a bigger week for us, but we have a tournament next week in Oakhurst, CA so i'm trying to stock up a bit.....

Still have to hit Savemart tomorrow for a few deals and get Iron Kids bread & milk at Costco...

Of note, 1 package of the keebler cookies was eaten before the groceries were all inside the house....by daddy, the Queen, and the Athlete.....all the while, the Queen was announcing that she does not eat Salami because it isn't healthy!  LOL!

Leap Frog Tag Reading System

Target has this system on sale for $28.99. A bit too much for me.....until you combine it with the manufacturer coupon HERE and the Target coupon HERE. Net price after coupons = $8.99.

**EDIT** I went to my local Target today to grab this deal....however, the Tag reading system scanned at $39.99. They also did not have the toy catalogs. I need to look into this...maybe i have the sale dates wrong? On a brighter note, the Leap Frog Tag junior reading system was on sale for $28.99. The cashier at customer service accepted the Target coupon for $10 off, combined with the mfg coupon of $5 off, I paid about $15 total. I will use this as the main gift for our 2 year old this Christmas. It comes with 1 book, and i purchased 2 more (on sale for $8.99).

Free toys

I've already posted or linked to these deals, but here is a little more info....

1. To get a free bath tub frog toy - $10 value - send a receipt showing purchase a Johnson's bath product (I bought Johnson's bubble bath/baby soap at Target - on sale for $3, then used a $1 off coupon = a final price of $2). This wasn't a special purchase for me, I buy Johnson's bath products anyway, so might as well seize the freebie opportunity and add it to my little one's Christmas stash!

Once you have your receipt in hand, mail to:

Johnson & Johnson/Parents GWP
375 Lexington Ave.
10th floor
New York, NY 10017

The offer expires Dec. 1, or when supplies run out. Find the details HERE.

Special thanks to Little People Wealth Friday's Freebies post, where I first learned of this freebie.

2. Remember the Keebler deal I posted HERE? Well...here is some more info on a $10 toy voucher you can receive using specially marked Keebler products. I first read about this at Money Saving Mom's Target deals post for this week.

Here is the required form, mail it with the 5 Toy Cash tokens (cut from packaging) to:

Kellogg's $10 Toy Cash Voucher
P.O. Box 7017
Kalamazoo, MI 49003-7017

It also says to allow 45 days from receipt of your order to get your voucher.

Also, when I followed the link from Money Saving Mom to Stretching a Buck, I also noticed another Kellogg's steal of a deal! See her post HERE.

The details from Kellogg's are HERE. Basically, buy 3 specially marked packages of Kellogg's cereal - Fruit Loops, Frosted Mini-wheats, Raisin Bran, or Frosted Flakes - and submit the codes contained inside the box to the website and get a $10 bonus bucks certificate by mail, good on purchase of toys.......and a few other things.

Offer expires 9/30/2010. There is NO LIMIT to the amount of bonus bucks you can earn!
However, it takes 4-6 weeks to get your bucks...so, LET's FIND SOME DEALS PEOPLE!!

I happen to know that the Target coupon generator over at Hot Coupon World, has $1 off coupons for Kellogg's cereal, 11.2 oz or larger, expiring 11/17/2009. It's not on sale this week, but maybe next?

How many totally awesome people have visited?
